Thought Patterns - August 2003

current weblog

Monday 25 August

The last bank holiday of summer. I am cataloguing my photos using Extensis Portfolio desktop edition v5 which was given away with PC Plus a while ago. It takes time.

It's overcast and grey here but the ground is parched. We haven't had any rain for almost a month in London. I fitfully prune the ivy while the catalogues are sorting themselves out.

Thanks to Chris I've just finished re-reading "Mostly Harmless". Better than I remember it though it seems slightly more laboured than usual in parts. Strangely enough Old Thrashbarg seems the most rounded character in it. I must get to grips with sandwich making. Could come in useful one day.

I found the following typed with a very old dot matrix which was almost certainly linked up to a rubber keyed Spectrum.

I'm sure it meant something at the time I typed it 20 odd years ago and there is some chance that it may mean something in the future too.

WELCOME

The following represents the directly transmitted apprehensions of source points that serve as nodes for dissemination of awareness producing data in local galactic area.

These transmission sheets are composed of first order data which may then be processed into higher order information patterns. At some point along the information processing line, data becomes personalised to fit individual or group situations. At the level of personal interpretation reactions to the validity and application of the material are bound to vary with the degree of develoment of the group or individual. If this is seen as problematic then it will be necessary to check the scope of first order data by contacting source nodes as appropriate.

GOOD LUCK

This is my first experimental entry to this page using the trial version of Contribute 2. It promises to make updating this website a lot easier and speedier - at a price ($99).

I have archived the June postings using it. I must remember that the FTP layout on my other machine will not pick up the changes I make via Contribute.

A little game to pass the time.

I shall persevere for the moment with the instant posting facilities of Live Journal so for the latest written weblog entries please go here

I will continue to post photos and artwork to this site which should become more of a resource centre.

However....plans are always changing. Watch this space.

Saturday 2 August

There's something almost Daliesque about this view from Epping Forest...

The heat returns to London.

It's hard for me to get a focus on activities at the moment. My mind is dashing from subject to subject and paying each just enough attention to get by. Also called "keeping abreast of things" I think. This is practically a full time occupation in the case of PC developments alone. I need "better shot selection" (as they say about the England cricket team too) - I need to select the things that stand a chance of helping me get into the kind of work and living environment where I could pursue the kind of creative projects in music and the arts that I want to do without feeling hemmed in by obligations and purely commercial activities.

Blah, blah, blah...
